the girl next door

Life is boring. ..until the following day when you've uncovered your eyes and you realize that you're in a completely different world.

From 6 til 10 in the morning, I find myself tuning in and out of morning talk radio, in hopes to find something interesting enough to hold me over til 5pm. Those attempts are never successful.

I'm glad The Mikey Show finally found themselves a new home. His new group has got some hotties, but they have just enough of my attention to keep me before my ADD kicks in and I'm finding myself Bejeweling til lunch. Caitlyn, you're going down.

Ah lunch. Not what it used to be. The very opportunity to get to know some of your coworkers on a more personal level, without the strain and worries of deadlines and barking bosses. Not for me though. No, I'd rather waste my energy at a stuffy 24 and sweat til the room goes black. 25 lb dumbbell, medicine ball and an overused yoga mat.... ya, that's my idea of an hour well spent.

of course the remainder of the day is spent trying to find something to satisfy my insatiable appetite. maybe its hunger. maybe its bordem. maybe I am a fat kid inside. either way, I'm still chugging on raspberry-chocolate flavored water from a plastic cup with the metal wisk ball that keeps to splashing shit in my eyes.

4 boxes of girl scout cookies, 16 closed web browsers, and 434,000 points later, I find the small hand finally reaching 5 on my clock. wait. thats the big hand. dammit.

I begin recalling the dinner I had the other night with my new roommate... and the realization that I'm moving in with someone who I'm attracted to. oh well. its just attraction. i hope.

I mean..... I'm a girl-next-door type of guy. and shes HOT. too hot. not my type. maybe if she looked a little more like someone at work, I'd be thinking about her this very mome.....

5:01 pm

after fighting heavy eyelids and nearly rear ending almost every car on the 805 south, the white University St. lettering appears on the green panel above me. almost home. an orange light blinks briefly on my dashboard. was that the gas lamp? oh well

I like gravity. especially when you've stumbled through your front door and your bedroom sheets slowly begin to swallow everything in front of you.... and BAM! you're out like every boxer who's faced Manny Pacquiao.

what time is it? ...and where the hell is that knocking sound coming from?!

I smell... something. delicious.

whats the best part about having a caterer for a roommate?

45 minutes later.

the food coma begins to kick in. but not before I can flip on my favorite channel... TCM

I think I'm starting to crush on this lady... she has a genuinely
warming smile that brings you about as much comfort and love as did the beef rigatoni slathered in a creamy white wine sauce that I buried my face in about 5 minutes ago. her name is Gilly, but I believe you'll find her in imdb as Gail Russell. WOW. Moonrise (1948). Go rent it.

blink.

1:24 am. blink.

darkness.

7:24 am. my alarm didn't go off. Im already thinking about THE girl next door.

today is gonna be a good day.
